The Town of Cleveland is one of 14 townships regulated by Jackson County's Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance. Requests for a zone change or a conditional use permit are made to the Jackson County Zoning, Planning, and POWTS Department.
The Town of Cleveland board will discuss these requests at a public meeting and vote to support or deny the request. The Town of Cleveland uses guidance from the Comprehensive Plan, among other things, to help guide future growth in the community.
Official public comment and final voting occurs at the Jackson County Zoning, Planning, and POWTS Department public hearing.
Building permits may be required from Jackson County Zoning, Planning, and POWTS. In addition, a Town of Cleveland building permit may also be required.
The Town of Cleveland has a 5 member Comprehensive Planning Commission. Members serve a 3 year term. Meeting agendas and minutes will be posted under guidance from State law, and on this web site when administratively possible. Minutes and agendas can be found here when available.
